U.S. Government seizes BitTorrent Search Engine

Stop faking it..

Search engine website for file-sharing and downloading is in the spotlight again.

After Limewire finally shut down its operation due to support or distribute its P2P file-sharing software lately, this time he U.S. Government seize the domain of a large hiphop file-sharing links forum.





"A spokeswoman for ICE confirmed the seizures in the following statement. “ICE office of Homeland Security Investigations executed court-ordered seizure warrants against a number of domain names. As this is an ongoing investigation, there are no additional details available at this time.”

Torrent-Finder.com site are greeted with an ominous graphic which indicates that ICE have seized the site’s domain.


BitTorrent meta-search engine along with those belonging to other music linking sites and several others which appear to be connected to physical counterfeit goods are no longer in operation. Domains that are apparently seized due to ICE office of Homeland Security Investigations executed court-ordered seizure warrants against a number of domain names. 

“My domain has been seized without any previous complaint or notice from any court!” the exasperated owner of Torrent-Finder told Torrent Freak website this morning.

It seems Torrent-Finder is not alone. The hiphop site RapGodFathers had been seized along with 2 other music sites in the same genre called OnSmash.com and DaJaz1.com. Several others are affected such as few sites selling knockoffs of trademarked goods like designer handbags.
