Mariah Carey's new album Merry Christmas II You ... a flop?

According to chart analysts at Hits Daily Double Mariah Carey's new Christmas album is expected debut next week on the US Billboard 200 anywhere from 50-60k units judging by retail figures.

Carey’s first Holiday collection, ‘Merry Christmas’, debuted in 1994 at #30 on the chart with less than 45k sold before experiencing large increases in sales as the season progressed. Many radio stations play X-mas songs about early December.

Carey who is in her 40s, has been pushing her baby news pregnancy and linking it to her Merry Christmas II You promotions.

Susan Boyle, a 47 yo singing sensation from the reality tv Britain's Got Talents is set to repeat her end-of-2009 album success this year. The Scottish singer's new album has shot to the top of's Bestsellers chart more than a month before its release.

The Gift won't be released until 9 November (10) but the talent show sensations is already assured of another big hit - fans are already desperate to pre-order the album.

Taylor Swift already had a chart-topping album that was also the best-selling piece of music in 2009 in Fearless, but it looks like her new album Speak Now will be moving into a whole new world of record breaking over the course of its life. Speak Now sold an astounding one million copies in a single week, easily giving her another chart-topping album and paving the way for her to challenge Eminem for the best-selling album of 2010.
