Google Has A New Look

Notice any difference?

Starting from yesterday, May 5  2010, Google the biggest search engine has a new whimsical layout which is rather clean, modern and sleek. Plus, a new logo.

The search tool is on the left (well-known as left- hand navigation) offering the ability to refine results by time and by news, blogs, images, books and more. More or less like Microsoft's Bing but critics say the new layout has cluttered menus which the public won't and don't really use.

According to the press release of Google, " So today, as we roll out a new look for Google Search results on your computer, we are happy to announce similar changes to Google Search results for mobile."

Google is hoping to increase its market share and continuing 'domination' since the increase of Bing’s up to nearly 4 % points since its launch. Now Microsoft is hoping to team up with Yahoo ! search. Bing has 11.7% market share and Google is targeting around 65% especially in the US.

According to a report, last year Google managed to attract significantly around 80 billion searches more than any other engine.

"Yahoo! Sites ranked second worldwide with 8.9 billion searches (7.8 percent share), followed closely by Chinese search engine Baidu with 8 billion searches (7.0 percent share). Most of the top search properties worldwide experienced significant growth in search query volume versus last year, with Russian search engine Yandex growing at the fastest rate (94 percent) among the 10," a data released by Comscore.com
